The Conscious Ones is a youth acting company comprised of students from the Lola Louis Creative and Performing Arts Studio acting program. The range in ages from 10 to 20. The company has been invited to perform an excerpt from “The Children’s Legacy” – a play written and directed by Lola Louis.
The Conscious Ones acting company has been invited by the Institute of the Black World to present the “demonstration scene” from The Children’s Legacy at The State of the Black World Conference III; the conference is to be held at Howard University from November 14 to the 18th, 2012.
The total cost per child is $450. This includes transportation and hotel accommodation for the entire conference. There are 16 members in the group.
Sponsor would be asked to donate:
$450 – Full sponsorship
$225 – 50% sponsorship
$150 – partial sponsorship
or any amount they can to help defray the cost.
This is a great opportunity for our youth to gain an education and understanding of the plight of Black Youth not only in our communities, but on a worldwide basis. They will participate in workshops designed to address the issues and the future of Black youth.
Your sponsorship will provide an opportunity for our youth to become full participants in this inspiring and unforgettable conference.
